Wage Increase 2009/2010: Port Elizabeth

The parties to the council have agreed on the following wage increases:

12% wage increase in respect of employees earning less than R11.50 p/hour

11% wage increase in respect of employees earning less than R15.00 p/hour

10% wage increase in respect of employees earning more than R15.00 p/hour

The holiday savings portion of the “stamp contribution” has been improved to 1% of the applicable wage band of an employee. The parties have agreed that these increases will be made retrospective to 5 October 2009.

The WAGE SCHEDULES are subsequently to be applied as from 5 October 2009.

Employers are also reminded that voluntary membership of the Council's Medical Aid Fund is available to all MBA employers personally as well as to all employees in the industry.
